It's about helping resident artists realize their goals. It's about complimenting existing arts tourism efforts. It's about drawing artists here to live and thrive.

In the ten years since its inception AMP has sponsored three"pocket" sculpture parks where local and regional artists display their work.

In 2014 we introduced Paint The Point an event that brought artists from all over the country to paint “en plein air” (in open air) in Mineral Point. Visitors were able to watch painters create artworks out of doors, and got a chance to purchase their favorites. Artworks were judged and artists competed for cash and prizes. Paint The Point continues to grow and draw visitors to our beautiful town and countryside.

The biggest challenge young artists often face is economic. Available commercial space is expensive. In response, AMP established a location where artists can meet, work, collaborate and exhibit at a price they can afford - in other words an Incubator. The Cannery Arts Incubator, located on Water Streets is full with a waiting list of artists. This space provides a magnet for artists considering Mineral Point for their home.

Each year and season brings new opportunities. AMP has implemented/initiated Member Art Shows, Ice Lantern Festivals, Chamber Music Festivals, String Quartets, a Stained Glass Tour and a Gallery Night or two.

The arts community in Mineral Point is always changing. New artists and galleries arrive every year, others move on. We are always looking for new ways to nurture and promote this wonderful creative community. Please join us as a member and get involved.
