The 8th annual Mineral Point Ice Lantern Festival, presented by Arts Mineral Point, is Saturday, February 8, 2025, throughout the downtown historic district! Visit Mineral Point’s galleries, studios and shops throughout the day and into the evening.

See ice lanterns created by artists, businesses, MP High School Art students and fun loving townspeople. Lanterns are made of ice by mother nature and are powered by a single candle. Lanterns will be judged and prizes will be awarded.

2025 Event Schedule

Enjoy family-friendly activities in the downtown historic district from 11am - 7pm. Grab hot chocolate, warm-up at a fire pit and listen to tunes from DJ FMAV in the library park. Ice Lanterns are lit up at 5pm! Visit participating retail locations with extended hours till 7:00pm, and bars and restaurants with festival specials.

Final exhibit day of The AMP Member Art Show. See artworks from 30 professional member artists as well as a special exhibit of Mineral Point student art. Masonic Lodge, 304 High Street. free

1:15pm - 1:45pm

Storytelling with Jane Stenson. The Republic of Letters, 151 High Street free

2:00pm - 3:30pm
Family-friendly movie. Mineral Point Public Library, 137 High Street, (next to Library Park), main floor. Steve stands out from the crowd. He likes long walks, to fish. And he collect rocks. Lucky for him he finds his match. But when his other half leaves him alone with the kids, he discovers being a father is more than he bargained for. free

Kids Costume Contest. Winning costume receives a $50 prize! $5 entry fee

Take a turn strolling around a ring of numbers to music. Whoever is standing on the number called, wins the cake!

Take a turn at hurling an over-baked Ice Lantern! (Contestants must be able to lift 20 pounds). Winning toss will be the farthest within the closed-course. Winner receives a $50 prize!
