“I am a visual artist based in southwestern Wisconsin. My skills and specialties include, but are not limited to: pet portraits, painting, bottle cap mosaics, mixed media and large scale work. Much of my art work begins as a dream, and then I go on to manifest it.
I have been a working artist since college and an elementary art teacher for 31 years. Young children are the best artists; they’re fearless, creative, and true to themselves. In this way, they inspire me daily!
My use of color and pattern is heavily influenced by the pre-Columbian and Native Peruvian (Quechua) artwork to which I was exposed as a child. I lived in Peru for six years.
I have created numerous commissions for clients, participated in many shows, and worked with a variety of media. I am available for taking on new projects and have finished work for sale.”

“Curiosity and creativity have fed my soul from earliest childhood. My early education was in Botany and
Horticulture. After a career in agribusiness, MS forced me to rethink how else to use my talents. Art not only feeds my soul but is a way to make a meaningful place in the world.
Most of my work is of botanical subjects done in watercolors. More recently I have begun exploring colored pencil, ink and ceramic printing. The only constants are realism and luminous color.
My work is available as prints, cards and ceramic tiles.”

“Twins, Joelle and Katie White are merging their ceramic art into one partnership business. Introducing the Globe Clay Center located at Howdle Studio in Mineral Point, WI! The sisters create and display beautifully crafted pottery, sculpture, and jewelry in the late Bruce Howdle’s studio and gallery. Howdle was a beloved mentor to many, and an advocate for the arts, as well as the historic preservation of Mineral Point. The building which houses this new business was originally constructed in 1876 as The Globe Hotel. Howdle bought the crumbling structure in 1983 and completely rejuvenated it to its historic originality. Katie and Joelle were Bruce’s studio assistants before he passed away in August of 2018. The pair wish to honor their mentor and the predecessors of the building by creating this clay center where they can share their art with the community.”

Watercolor is a journey of discovery. At times it’s unpredictable, yet that instability is what brings magic and wonder to my canvas. For me, it is a life metaphor; a reminder that unplanned detours can bring unexpected, joyful discoveries. I use a wet-into-wet technique that allows the water and pigments to move freely while still allowing me to steer the painting toward an established vision. This tension between spontaneity and control brings a special vitality to my process and to the paintings themselves. It allows me to let go and have faith in the process while at the same time capture the important details that tell the story.

Robert Clements Studio
“Clements’ gorgeous color images have an uncanny ability to deepen our understanding of the prairie by helping us notice the subtle beauty of what we frequently overlook. Singular trees, storms, fields, animals, and western history are all subjects he has explored in depth throughout Western South Dakota.
In addition to his personal photography, Robert is also an expert at the digital restoration of historical photographs, specializing in early photographs of the western plains. ”
