All businesses and individuals are encouraged to participate: A $20 registration fee will cover promotional costs, and proceeds will benefit the Mineral Point High School Art Department.
Businesses or individuals who are not located in the historic district, but who would like to participate in the event, are welcome: Before the event, if you wish to display your lantern in front of a business, please contact them and ask for permission.
If you would like to participate, but can't build a lantern: The Mineral Point High School Art Department can do it for you! Simply check the box when registering.
Registration fee for one Ice Lantern Festival competition participant.
Size: Lanterns may made with any form, shape or color. The maximum size is only limited by the weight that one adult can safely lift.
Construction: Lanterns must be made away from public sidewalks. Water freezing will create a slipping hazard. Please use care and common sense when building your lantern.
Candles: Lanterns must be illuminated by one candle that will burn for at least 4 hours.
Clean-up: After the event, participants are responsible to remove the lanterns when they are no longer usable.
